Matthew: 26, 27, 28, 29</p
26 – And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” 27 – Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 – “For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. 29 – “But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s Kingdom.”
This is where our blessed new covenant came into place and the old one was abolished (the sacrifice of animals). Jesus’ blood is for the remission of our sins, He could have walked away but He didn’t, He surrendered everything for us. I have been through pain in my life but can only imagine the horrific pain Jesus suffered for us. I thank Him every day for such a beloved gift.
What a very profound statement by Jesus – “But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s Kingdom.” It will be so amazingly wonderful to drink of this fruit of the vine with Jesus in our Father’s Kingdom.
Exodus 23- 25
25 –So you shall (worship) the LORD your GOD and He will bless your bread and water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.
